Asbestos testing is a service that ALS have been providing for over a decade. Recently, due to an increasing volume of samples submitted to our laboratories, a new SEM, Scanning Electron Microscope, was installed in our Prague laboratory.
Olivier Lecot, Business Development Manager comments on the investment:
We have seen a steady increase of samples for asbestos testing in our laboratories, both traditional samples of (building) material but also filters used to monitor air quality and the work environment. The investment in an additional SEM was required to enable us to provide a timely service to our clients and to increase our capacity for samples were legislation requires SEM analysis or confirmation. I am pleased to say that the new instrument has been installed and we have obtained accreditation for testing of asbestos in soils, construction materials and filters.
