ALS is delighted to announce that it is continuing to expand its footprint in Europe following the acquisition of Controlvet SGPS.

Originally founded in Viseu in March 1999, Controlvet now operates 4 accredited laboratories in Portugal, Spain and Poland, employing more than 100 people. Growth has been based on strong and lasting client relationships, underpinned by a high degree of technical knowledge and continued innovation in products, processes and services.

The acquisition further underlines ALS's commitment to the strategic plan of growing the Food & Pharmaceutical business into a global leader.  The acquisition of Controlvet not only brings an excellent team into the ALS family but also extensive capabilities, systems and diversification opportunities. 

Commenting on the deal, Matthew Masters (General Manager, Europe) said, "I am extremely excited by the acquisition and look forward to working with the team to expand our services and network. Senior members of our technical team in the UK will be working closely with our new colleagues over the next three months to help integrate the business into ALS and leverage Controlvet's extensive molecular biology capabilities that include GMO, allergens and DNA sequencing."
